- Wash your hands. Wash them often. Wash them thoroughly and scrub top and bottom for no less than 20 seconds each time.
- Avoid crowds for the time being. Movies and the mall might be fun family activities other times of the year but for now make your fun at home.
- Eat healthy and get plenty of rest. It is important to stay in top physical condition.
- Use disinfectant wipes to clean off commonly touched surfaces. This includes doorknobs, countertops, toilet seats and toilet handles, and other places that are used by the community.
- Keep lots of tissues nearby. Cover your mouth and nose thoroughly with the tissue when you cough or sneeze and then discard the tissue immediately. Always wash your hands when you are done.
- Avoid touching your eyes or mouth after you have coughed or sneezed. It is a good idea to make this a habit even in times when there is no worry about spreading germs.

- Always drink plenty of fluids.
